Frequently Asked Questions

I haven’t started planning anything! Is it too late?

Many clients reach out 12-18 months in advance for full planning. If you’re further along in your planning journey, with 4-8 months to prepare, we’d be happy to help with partial planning, wedding coordination or a combination of both.

Are you a gender and identity inclusive wedding planning company?

Absolutely. We believe love is love. We are more than happy to work alongside LGBTQ clients, those of different abilities and more. We prioritize being not only a safe space on your special day, but for your self expression and identity.

How much will my wedding cost?

While no wedding is the same, our clients spend between $350 - 500 per guest, on average. That roughly equates to $35,000 - $50,000 per 100 guests. This includes venue, vendors, dress, our planning fee and more.

I love your work, but I live outside of North Carolina. Do you travel for wedding planning?

Yes. We love to meet our couples all over the country. We travel up to 35 miles outside of Charlotte, North Carolina, in all directions without extra charge.

How will we meet, if we’re not in the area?

Depending on the service you choose, and your distance from our team, virtual meetings are always an option. However, there are important touchpoints that we prefer to be in-person, like venue walkthroughs and vendor finalization.

I have a friend or family member that’s in the wedding industry, as a DJ/photographer, etc. Can I work with them?

We’d never tell you who you should and shouldn’t work with. We are committed to you leading the charge. What we will offer is another perspective. As much as we support your loved ones being willing to be there for you in that way, we often remind clients that your wedding should be a celebration for everyone. Your loved one should enjoy the time of being a guest, just as everyone else. We’ll handle the planning, coordination and vendor list, expertly.

My venue has a venue coordinator. Do I still need a wedding planner?

That’s an amazing add-on that your venue has. A venue coordinator’s top priority is the venue. Our? It’s you. Unlike a venue coordinator, we will ensure that all vendors and your wedding party are aware of the key timelines on your big day.

How do I get started planning with Purposely Designed Event Planning?

Many clients reach out 12-18 months in advance for full planning. If you’re further along in your planning journey, with 4-8 months to prepare, we’d be happy to help with partial planning, wedding coordination or a combination of both.

Do you plan events other than weddings?

Many clients reach out 12-18 months in advance for full planning. If you’re further along in your planning journey, with 4-8 months to prepare, we’d be happy to help with partial planning, wedding coordination or a combination of both.

How much notice do you need to plan events that aren’t wedding related?

We recommend reaching out 4-8 months in advance to allow both you and our team enough time to get to know each other, plan and execute.

Can you help plan my honeymoon, as well?

Absolutely. We would love to work alongside you to ensure you can continue the celebration wherever you please!

Is there additional investment required for travel planning?

Yes. There is an admin fee for travel planning. All travel fees are included in the full event planning investment.

How soon should I reach out about travel?

Our team prefers a minimum of 4-6 months before planning travel. This ensures that we have the time to provide you with an amazing experience.

How can I rent your photo booth?

You can complete a photo booth inquiry form here (link to Inquiry Form). You’ll let us know the details of your event, and we’ll reach out with next steps.

Can I rent the photobooth if I’m out of state?

Yes. Depending on our availability, and the event’s distance from Charlotte, North Carolina, a travel fee may be instituted for us to get the equipment to you in a timely manner.
